SMS deal alerts are the most effective way to notify readers on hot deals while increasing your affiliate revenue.

Here are a few best practices to keep in mind for launch. 🛍️

 

⏱️ Frequency: BE CONSISTENT.

Subscribers often opt-in to receive alerts for flash deals. Maintaining a consistent schedule, while also sending deals they want will not only increase engagement effectiveness, but also increase revenue potential.

  • Daily deals are effective—increased messaging for prime shopping events/holidays as needed (Amazon Prime Day, Christmas, Black Friday, etc.)
  • Weekday texts typically see higher engagement than weekends with best times to text usually landing around noon (12pm-3pm EST).

 

Content Ideas: Take a minute to think through your launch timeline and see what possible ways you can provide value to your audience.

  • Send SMS with strategically placed CTA to encourage your readers to take action on the deal.
  • Segment your audience using ‘tags’ and send text deals directly inline with their interests.
  • Focus on bringing a personal touch to your texts by introducing yourself and signing off with your name for better subscriber engagement and experience.
  • Give your audience a heads up on increased SMS expectations during big promotional events and holidays.
  • Research trending items with the biggest discounts to send. Add your own review of the item (if applicable).
  • Applying a visual aid (where applicable) alongside your texts tend to promote more engaged readers.

Subscriber Acquisition: There are tons of ways to promote your channel and get your fans signed up!

Here are the basics to start:

  • Text to sign-up: Readers can easily sign up by texting anything to your primary marketing number where they receive a bounce-back link to complete the process. We can also set up a subscription keyword attached to your campaign so that users can text that specific keyword to automatically be added to the campaign seamlessly!
  • Sign-up URL: Every channel has their own landing page where users can complete the sign-up process. We recommend linking these on your social bios and promoting them in pinned posts as well. You can find this link under the “Campaign” tab of your dashboard.
  • Embed Code: Embed codes are the number one driver of sign-ups! Add them to the homepage of your website. Create even more impact by designing a visual CTA to direct users to sign up directly without navigating to an external page.
  • SMS links: SMS links can be included in your IG stories, Reels, Tiktok’s, etc. When tapped from a mobile device, SMS links will open the users primary messaging app, with the number of the campaign and also a keyword or phrase already pre-populated. All the user needs to do is hit ‘send’ to begin the sign-up process or be added to your new text line. Let us know if you’d like one created for you! 
  • QR Codes: Scannable QR codes that work just like our SMS links, opening the users primary messaging app, with the number of the campaign and keyword/phrase pre-populated. These codes can be used for external promotions and marketing for seamless and quick sign-ups.
