What should I write in my texts?

Not sure how to apply your content to SMS?

Let us help! Here's a few strategies you can implement to get started!

1) Alerts ✉️ 📲

SMS has a 98% open rate overall and a 90% open rate in the first 3 minutes of receiving a text. Translation: Your text will reach your fans lightyears ahead of your emails!

Write a newsletter? Have a weekly podcast?

Don't keep your audience waiting! Sending a text will let your fans know that their newsletter has hit their inbox or your bonus podcast episode is dropping at noon.

2) Exclusive Access ✨

Like being a member at your favorite store and getting the coveted 30% winter discount code while everyone else gets 20%? We do!! And so do your subscribers.

Whether it's a discount, access code, or an expanded op ed piece, your subscribers want it.

Show them how much you value their support and they'll continue to reward you with their engagement and interaction.

3) Your Opinions 📣

Whether your audience follows you on a particular news site, social media, or tv, they follow you for a reason. Allow SMS to expand this potential and give short breakdowns of your opinions on breaking news or expand on a topic you've been discussing lately. Think the Mets overpaid for Soto? Tell your fans. We love a hot take.

4) Their Opinions 🤔

We all like being asked our thoughts. It gives us a space to give our perspective and weigh in on subjects that matter to us. Whether its art, politics, or the new fall line, your audience will want to weigh in. And it's easier than ever to gather their feedback with our new Survey feature. Check it out!

Still stuck on content⁉️ 😫

Sometimes you may be short on exciting things to text. While you don’t want to force a text to your audience, you also don’t want to go silent for too long. It’s all about finding a balance and making sure you’re adding value.

Tips On What To Do

  1. Be honest: It’s okay to acknowledge if there’s less happening around the topic you normally cover.  Recognizing that and letting your audience know that you’ll keep monitoring the situation can actually be a relief to them. Now they can continue with their day, knowing you’ll alert them if anything changes. People will appreciate the direct and honest approach.
  2. Ask the audience: Texting is a two-way street and your audience can act as a  great source for content inspiration. What do they want to know about? What’s on their minds or catching their eyes?
  3. Try a game: You can pose a personal challenge to your audience or engage them with a subscriber-only contest or giveaway opportunity.
  4. What’s in the weeds: There’s always something happening. Think about sports and how even during the “off-season” there’s usually something to talk about. People analyze the team structure, the new recruits, the contracts, the status of the new stadium, etc. What’s the equivalent of “off-season” topics for your focus?

Remember people aren't just subscribing for the topic alone. They want YOUR take on it. So don't be afraid to use your voice and text in a way that feels authentic to you. 😎
